Spring replacement should be $300-$400 installed at most. Do your homework and don't just call and hire the first guy at the top of Google.

He also warned me about potential up selling from other companies, which I quickly found out after calling four other competitors. Long story short I got a bad feeling about the guy who showed up. I started looking more into him and his “company”, only to find I was being scammed. They were unable to provide a license number or any other traceable information. I started looking up what parts cost (they wanted to charge me $150 for a brace that is $10 at Home Depot). Don thank goodness was texting me on Father’s Day Sunday while this was happening. I showed him a picture of the parts that the scammer replaced and asked him about what it would cost. His price was more than 3x less than what this guy was trying to charge. It’s with that information that I was able to stick up for myself and refuse to pay this guy what he wanted. Don had heard of these people before and knew their whole playbook. Don came and replaced everything the scammer did, and even added a 9 foot metal piece at the top of the door that the scammer failed to realize was needed so my door didn’t cave in eventually. Don did it all for more than 1/3 the price and in under an hour. He was so nice to have texted me back on Father’s Day and helped save me from a terrible situation. I will be using him for all future garage needs. I can’t thank or recommend Don/Uneda enough. Do yourself a favor and call him first!

I found that they charge a fee to just come out and evaluate the issue. I then found Uneda which had some great reviews, so I called. They were able to send their tech Kevin sooner than Precision and without the visit fee. So I switched. Kevin was great. Very knowledgeable and quickly assessed the situation and assured me it was routine and not take very long before our door would be working again. Sure enough, he removed the old springs and got the new ones on along with new bushings. He then took the time to adjust the garage door opener, and some minor bends in the door itself.
